Exterior Features
The 2012 Honda Civic is a compact car offered in nearly a dozen different trim levels, including gasoline, gasoline-electric hybrid, and natural gas variants. The Civic is sold in 4-door sedan and 2-door coupe models. Fifteen-inch steel wheels are standard.
Interior Features
The 2012 Honda Civic offers seating for up to 5 passengers in most models. Base Civic models feature cloth upholstery, power windows, rear window defroster, and more. Higher trim levels feature full power accessories, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-operated moonroof, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and other premium features.
Optional Features
Honda bundles most of its options, such as leather upholstery, heated front seats, satellite radio, and satellite-based navigation, with the trim level.
Under the Hood
Honda Civic models are fitted with one of four different engines. Base Civic models feature a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 140 horsepower. The Civic Si, tuned for performance, is fitted with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 201 horsepower. The Civic Hybrid features a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor for a total system power of 110 horsepower. The Civic Natural Gas is equipped with a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, for which Honda does not specify horsepower. Transmissions include 5- and 6-speed manuals, a 5-speed automatic, and a continuously variable transmission. All 2012 Honda Civic models are front-wheel drive.
